Day 17 - an art piece (drawing, sculpture, painting, etc) that moves you.

Day 17 - an art piece (drawing, sculpture, painting, etc) that moves you.

All of them. Can I say that two days in a row? I made a whole website devoted to art because it has become such a huge part of my grief. I did write about an art piece that moved me a great deal very early in my grief. That post is here, and so maybe I will just let it speak for itself.

Angie Weeping.
The follow-up post is about art too. A Museum of Flowers.

  1. I read your other post.

    And yeah :(

When we came home from hospital without Freddie, one of the first things I saw on tv was one of those manipulated maps to show worldwide infant mortality. The huge, overblown Africa and the tiny, weeny Europe.

And I simultaneously thought - in that tiny Europe of hardly any infant mortality, why me? And yet, look at Africa. All those women, all those babies. Why NOT me?

  2. Thanks for the link back to that post and the walk down memory lane. Your writing moved me then and continues to now.

  3. Angie, I'd never read that post, I was still pregnant with Florence back then. Seems strange now to think that I would need to find you and all my other bloggy friends just a few mnths later.
    That! Just wow!

  4. I remember going to see that painting with Sarah and David the day after I met you. It blew me away then- still does.

  5. I remember that post. Such a poignant picture.

  6. That is a beautiful and heartbreaking painting. I'd never seen it before, I'm glad you shared it.

What do you think?
